| Western
States Center is a dynamic training and organizing institute
that advances social, racial gender, economic and environmental
justice in the West. The Center provides leadership and
organizational development training and support; promotes
community organizing; builds electoral skills and broad-based
public interest coalitions; and works to support anti-racist
efforts and to blunt right-wing "wedge issue"
campaigns.
Based in Portland, Oregon, Western States Center works
with hundreds of community organizations, issue advocacy
groups and progressive elected officials in the eight-state
region of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming,
Alaska, Nevada and Utah. Our mission is to help build
a powerful justice movement in the West that is multi-issue,
multi-racial and multi-constituency.
