CSTI Idol?
Step aside Adam Lambert and Kris Allen... here comes CSTI's very own amazing array of talent.
Adam Lambert and Kris Allen have nothing over the organizers/superstars who performed at last night’s CSTI
Talent Show. Rising head and shoulders (literally) over Ryan Seacrest was hostess extraordinaire Walidah. She led us on a journey from banjos to MJ while looking fabulous in her Western States Center girly tee, accessorized with a menswear inspired waistcoat and a Che belt buckle.
Holding strong in the acapella camp were soulstress and poet Storme Webber, who gave us a rousing version of Sam Cook’s A Change is Gonna Come, while Las Vegas’s own Nathaniel kicked us off with an extraordinary rendition of John Legend’s Ordinary People.
Our very own WILDcat Mak, started the karaoke portion of the evening off with his smooth and sweet version of the classic Always and Forever. Fellow WILDcat Roberta, accompanied by her CSTI BFF, made us want to get up and move with their awesome I Wanna Dance with Somebody. Lorna from The Rebecca Project honored her mama by adding her own soul stylings to Dancing in the Streets, while Brian from Sisters of the Road Café honored the memory of Michael Jackson with his spectacular version of Human Nature.
Honoring the song he happened to have been singing in the shower Friday night, volunteer extraordinaire John brought some levity to the evening. His performance inspired fellow volunteer Dianne to comment, “I’ve always hated the Doors with a fiery passion yet I thoroughly enjoyed John’s performance of LA Woman.” Center staffer Sarah Howell, who had expressed skepticism at the idea of his performance, was impressed that he “managed to pull it off.”
So, while there was little to no guyliner present, there was plenty of love, guts and amazing voices.

CSTI knows how to party!
