As 2009 comes to a close and many people are gearing up for the year-end hustle and bustle, here in Oregon we are gearing up for a different kind of activity - a special election on January 26th. In this enews you'll find an update on how VOTE groups are gearing up for that election plus we'll check in with our WILD-cats as they convene for the third time.

Vote YES to Protect Basic Services and Jobs in Oregon
The combination of special elections and holidays has nonprofits in a unique role to help infrequent voters exercise their right to vote in 2010. On January 26th, Oregon voters will be asked to affirm the legislature’s revenue package which, in part, will raise the $10 minimum tax for corporations for the first time since 1931. Read more...
Another WILD Time at Menucha
The heavy rains couldn’t dampen our spirits when the 2009-2010 WILD class (Western Institute for Organizing and Leadership Development) got together again November 5th - 8th. We spent four fabulous days at the Menucha Retreat Center outside Portland renewing our friendships, refreshing our skills, and rejuvenating our commitment to social justice organizing. Read more...
