Western States Center's 2008 Highlights

In
2008 Western States Center turned 21 as the country turned not just a
page but volumes of history by electing Barack Obama as President. His
challenges are immense as the economy continues to cause hardship for
millions. On the brighter side the Center had a very good year and we

May Day 2009: Gaining Traction for Real CAUSA Immigration Reform?
May Day, the traditional workers’ holiday, has been celebrated with
special fervor in the last few years by immigrant workers, who are
using the holiday to publicly demand fair treatment. Since we saw
millions take to the streets in 2006, the annual protests have
continued to evolve. May Day 2009 had some telling clues about the
