Basic Rights Oregon

Basic Rights Oregon is Oregon's largest grassroots civil rights organization dedicated to ending discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Founded in 1995, BRO focuses on multi-year campaigns to shift public consciousness, build political power and win policy victories for GLBT equality in Oregon.

BRO links with local communities throughout Oregon as well as with the national movement. BRO's efforts in Oregon have helped keep the state on the cutting edge of civil rights protections across the country. They work in close connection and partnership with the national LGBT rights movement including the Human Rights Campaign, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Freedom to Marry, the National Center for Transgender Equality, the ACLU, the federation of state equality organizations and more.
