CSTI Programs and Activities
Additional programs and cultural events take place throughout CSTI and are open to all participants. here are just a few highlights you can look forward to this year:
MORNING PLENARY SESSIONS
Each day begins with a 9 AM plenary before participants break off into their individual workshops.
Friday July 31st- CSTI Opening Ceremony
This is what the movement for justice in the West looks like. Join us for a formal opening to CSTI 2008.
Saturday August 1st- The Elephant in the Room
The current economic crisis has laid bare some of the fundamental questions about who wins and who loses in our economic system. Join us for an opportunity to grapple with and re-frame the issues of the economic collapse and economic justice that we all have to deal with in our lives and our organizing.
Sunday August 2nd - Drawing the Lines: The 2010 Census and You
Undercount, miscount, overcount: How your community is counted in the 2010 Census helps determine how political lines are drawn. Come learn how to ensure that your community is fairly represented.
Lunchtime Connections

Gender Justice Tool Kit, Film and Discussion
Friday, July 31st, 6:30 PM
The Center’s Gender Justice Program kicks off the first evening of CSTI by unveiling a new tool kit for organizing around LGBTQ equality in communities of color. The evening continues with Switch: A Community in Transition, a new documentary about the response of a community to the gender transition of one of its members, followed by a discussion with film-maker Brooks Nelson.
