CHECKING IN AT CSTI

When you arrive at CSTI, look for signs that will direct you to Check-in .  All participants must go there first to receive a participant packet containing all the information you’ll need throughout the weekend.

Check InCheck-in will be open each day in the Gray Campus Center  during the hours listed below. You will receive a registration packet with detailed information about getting around on campus, events happening throughout the weekend, and special information from allied organizations. Those registered for on-campus lodging will also receive their dorm assignments and keys.

CHECK-IN HOURS

Thursday, July 29 ............ 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Friday, July 30 ................. 7:45 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

LODGERS CAN ONLY PICK UP KEYS DURING CHECK-IN HOURS

If you are staying on campus, please make your travel arrangements so you will be able to arrive on campus during check-in hours or you will not be able to pick up your keys. You will still need to go to check-in the following morning to pick up your participant packet.

PAYMENTS

Payment is not due until you receive your registration confirmation the week of July 12th. Click here for information on the cost of CSTI.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day with a two-hour lunch break from 12 – 2pm. We honor your first choice workshop selection as often as possible. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided along with water and coffee. Please bring your own water bottle or travel coffee mug to reduce waste. The time and location of break snacks will be posted near each classroom.

MEALS

The Reed College cafeteria offers a wide range of options to meet your dietary needs.  Lunch is included each day you attend a workshop, and we offer an extra long break so you will have a chance to network with other attendees and participate in various lunch-time meetings.  Breakfast and dinner is included for participants lodging on campus. Your participant name-tag will be needed to go through the cafeteria.

LODGING

All rooms are single occupancy or split double dorm rooms with twin size beds and a shared bath.  Bedding and towels are included, but the rest is up to you. The dorms and many of the classrooms at Reed College do not have air conditioning, so check the weather before you pack and prepare accordingly. For those that prefer to lodge off-campus, a list of accommodations is available on Reed's website.

A $50 room key deposit upon check-in is required for each key issued, and that payment may be made with check, cash or credit card.  Don't worry... we don't process the payment unless the key is lost.  Your organization may put all their participant deposits on one check or credit card.

CHILD CARE AND CHILD LODGING

Western States Center knows that organizers and activists may also have family responsibilities! We are able to offer limited, subsidized on-site childcare for children between the ages of 6 months and 11 years during workshop hours. Parents are required to accompany their children during lunch.

In order to maximize childcare for out of town CSTI guests, we ask participants from the Portland metro area to utilize the Center’s childcare service only when no other options are available. Advanced registration is required by June 30th. If you register for childcare online you will find more information in your registration confirmation letter including important forms that must be returned before your child will be admitted. Please look them over carefully.

Childcare costs $15/day for each child. Child lodging is $30 a night and includes all meals and snacks.
