Fee includes the morning plenary, a day-long workshop, lunch, and special programs and activities.

If you are coming from outside Western States Center's eight state region, or from a business or government institution, additional registration fees will apply. Email CSTI(at)wscpdx.org for more information.

On-Campus Lodging at Reed College

For those that prefer to lodge off-campus, a list of accommodations is available on Reed's website.

Additional Information on the cost of CSTI

Western States Center strives to keep CSTI affordable. Workshop fees cover only 30% of the cost to run CSTI. We raise the remaining 70% from small and large donors, foundations, and organizations.

We know that for some groups this subsidized cost is still a barrier. We encourage you to approach your current funders for support as soon as possible. The following foundations and support centers offer their current grantees and priority groups additional funding for skills building and conferences: RESIST, Environmental Support Center, and Common Counsel. Please contact your program officers directly.

The Center also has a CSTI Scholarship Fund for organizations that are currently in our programs. Eligible organizations should have received email invitations May 14th. This year the scholarship fund can support the tuition and lodging cost of up to three people per organization. The scholarship application deadline is June 11th.  Please contact us if you have questions or if your organization is eligible but has not received notice.

Work Trade

We offer opportunities before and during CSTI for participants to trade four hours of work for one workshop. Opportunities are on a first-come, first-served basis and may require participants to miss some early morning or evening programs at CSTI. Read more here.

Childcare

Western States Center knows that organizers and activists may also have family responsibilities! We are able to offer limited, subsidized on-site childcare for children under the age of 12 during workshop hours. Parents are required to accompany their children during lunch.

  • Cost is $15 per day per child.
  • Advanced registration is required by June 30th.

In order to maximize childcare for out of town CSTI guests, we ask participants from the Portland metro area to utilize the Center’s childcare service only when no other options are available.
