RACE
Research and Action for Change and Equity
The Research and Action for Change and Equity (RACE) Program
supports organizations building power in communities of color, immigrant and refugee groups and communities in addressing vital racial
justice issues.
We support groups in:
- Campaign organizing
- Organizational development
- Strategic convening of allied organizations
- Issue research and education
- Leadership development among immigrant and refugee communities
Our past and current projects and initiatives include:
- Racial Equity Tools
- When organizations working for positive change don’t examine racial equity as part of their work, they may contribute to the invisibility of people of color. Here are four tools that are being utilized by various institutions and organizations.
- Base Building Project
- Our Base Building Project works with people of color-led organizations to strengthen their leadership development and political education programs; enhance their capacity to engage members; and build frameworks and organizing rooted in a racial justice perspective.
- Dismantling Racism
- From 1998 to 2004, The Center’s Dismantling Racism Project provided training and support to anti-racist leaders and organizations, and in that context created resources for use throughout the region. We continue to provide those resources to allies across the country and have integrated anti-racist and racial justice issues throughout our work.
