GETTING AROUND PORTLAND
Western States Center will not provide transportation from the airport to Reed College. Please use our public transportation system or car-pool in a cab or shuttle. Thanks!
SHUTTLE SERVICES (TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT AND REED COLLEGE)
FINDING GROUND TRANSPORT at PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT
All ground transport—shuttles, taxis, Tri-Met MAX Red Line—can be found on the lower level of the terminal outside of Baggage Claim in the Ground Transportation Center. There is an Information Booth with an attendant who can direct you to the ground transport of your choice. If you have a reservation with one of the shuttle services, the attendant can alert them that you are here and can direct you to the appropriate area to wait for them.
Travel time to/from Reed is about 30 minutes. Advanced reservations
are not generally required, but you get a better rate with some; groups cost
less per person.
TAXI
CABS
The fare from the airport to/from Reed is approximately $25-$30. Once you exit the baggage claim area of the airport, the taxi area is located just beyond the median strip of the arrivals throughway. There is a sign and taxis are parked in a line. For the most direct route, ask the driver to take I-205 to the Foster Road exit, merge onto SE Foster Rd, turn left onto SE 82nd Avenue/OR-213, then turn right onto Woodstock Blvd to Reed College. Travel time is 20 to 30 minutes.

AUTOMOBILE
From the north: just north of Vancouver, WA, take the 1-205 exit from I-5 and follow I-205 south into Oregon. Exit at Powell Boulevard. Turn right (west) on Powell and drive to 39th Avenue. Turn left (south) on 39th and drive to Woodstock Boulevard. Turn right on Woodstock and drive straight a few blocks, Reed's parking lot will be on the right.
From the south: from I-5, take the Ross Island Bridge exit and follow the signs to the Ross Island Bridge. Cross the bridge and keep going until you get to 39th Avenue intersection, there is a stoplight. Turn right on 39th Avenue to Woodstock Blvd., turn right on Woodstock and drive straight a few blocks, Reed's parking lot will be on the right.
From the north on I-5: Take the I-84 East exit (#301). Continue eastbound on I-84 to the 39th Avenue exit (#2). Turn right (south) on NE 39th Avenue, passing through several major intersections until you reach SE Woodstock Boulevard. Turn right (west) on Woodstock. Reed will be on the right hand side.
From the south on I-205: Take the SE Powell Boulevard exit. Travel west on
Powell to SE 39th Avenue. Turn left (south) on 39th Avenue, passing through
several major intersections until you reach SE Woodstock Boulevard. Turn right
(west) on Woodstock. Reed will be on the right hand side.

Tri-Met is the public bus system. Fares are $1.25 for adults, $.95 for youth under 18, $.60 for honored citizens, and children under 6 ride free with a fare-paying rider. Their website at www.trimet.org has a trip planner, schedules, maps and shuttle services for those with disabilities.
From the Airport to Reed College:Travel time from the airport to Reed is approximately an hour and a half. The routes between Reed and the airport involve transferring once. The MAX Red Line Light Rail takes you downtown, where you transfer to the #19 Woodstock bus to Reed (www.trimet.org/schedule/r119.htm). OR you take the MAX Red Line to the Hollywood Station and transfer to the #75 Lombard bus to Reed (www.trimet.org/schedule/r075.htm).
From Reed College to the Airport:
Board 19 Woodstock to Portland via Union Manor. Stay on through downtown Bus Mall where the route name changes to 19 Glisan to Gateway TC. Get off at Gateway Transit Center and walk to Gateway MAX Station in the Transit Center. Board MAX Red Line to Airport. Get off at Portland Airport MAX Station Travel time: 83 minutes (including 6 minutes waiting).
Childcare: Children are welcome at CSTI. Childcare is available for children 12 and under, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A $10 reservation fee is required.
Location: CSTI 2003 is held at Reed College, at 3203 SE Woodstock Blvd., Portland, Oregon, 97202, and features classrooms, meeting spaces, off-street parking, wheelchair accessibility, overnight lodging in dorm rooms, good food and beautiful grounds. Public transportation is available to and from downtown and the airport.
Special Needs: Every effort is made to accommodate people with disabilities or other special needs. A limited number of wheelchair accessible dorms and classrooms are available and shuttle vans are on hand to give lifts to and from trainings. Translation is also available. Please help us plan by filling in your needs on your registration form.
