CSTI is a unique training event for community-based leaders working throughout the West. Participants are diverse with respect to race, geography, gender, age and experience level.

CSTI is for leaders, staff and volunteers of organizations who are working to address civil rights, environmental justice, education, gender justice, labor and other critical struggles facing our communities.

While workshops vary in educational format, all are designed to be highly participatory and to engage critical questions of strategy or provide intensive training in critical skills.Trainers, drawn from around the country and globe, are among the most experienced in their areas.

CSTI provides an opportunity for various sectors of the progressive movement to:

• Develop leaders and staff
• Learn different strategiesfor building power
• Build relationships and alliances with the broader movement
• Sharpen or expand their political analyses
