Western States Center did a quick scan of travel
resources for groups in our region who are interested
in attending the US Social Forum in Atlanta, Georgia
in June. We contacted a range of state and regional
funders, and
found the following funding available:
Funding Exchange
- Rolling deadline
To help link feminist movements and social justice
movements, The Funding Exchange, Ms. Foundation
for Women, Third Wave Foundation, the Astraea Lesbian
Foundation for Justice, and The Overbrook Foundation
are jointly providing funding for people to attend
the 2007 US Social Forum. We are actively seeking
applicants. Priority will be given to low-income
women,
women of color, young women (ages 15-30), women
with disabilities, lesbians/queer women and transgender
people. Formerly incarcerated women are also encouraged
to apply.

Scholarships for
Young Women and Trans Youth - May
10 Deadline Third Wave will provide full scholarships
(registration, travel, lodging and food) for young
women and transgender activists ages 15 - 30 to
attend the United States Social Forum this June.

MRG Travel Fund -
Rolling Deadline
OR groups only for travel and conference fees only
(not room and board). Travel fund is for current
and recent MRG grantees (grantees in either Peace
or General Fund since September 1, 2004). Maximum
grant award is $500, groups annual budget must be
