  For 20 years, Western States Center has had the pleasure of working with incredible grassroots leaders and organizations in the West working to build power for their communities and win progressive social change. The following are a few of the many progressive Idaho-based organizations working for justice.  
     
 
Progressive Organizations in Idaho
Boise Community Response Network - The Boise Community Response Network (BCRN) is a group of concerned citizens united in providing a positive and healing response to acts of hate through education and outreach working with the Ada County Human Rights Task Force, The Interfaith Alliance, Voices of Faith for Human Rights, and other human rights organizations.
Conservation Voters for Idaho - Conservation Voters for Idaho was created in 2005 as a political voice for the conservation values that define the state. Conservation Voters works to elect pro-conservation candidates to office, and to hold elected officials accountable.
Fund for Idaho - The Fund for Idaho's mission is to create a more just, compassionate, environmentally sound and healthy society in Idaho through strategic grant-making.
Idaho Community Action Network - The fundamental mission of ICAN is to provide a voice for Idahoans committed to progressive social change and to develop the power necessary to create those changes.
Idaho Conservation League - The Idaho Conservation League preserves Idaho's clean water, wilderness and quality of life through citizen action, public education, and professional advocacy.

Idaho Human Rights Education Center - The Center's Mission is to promote respect for human dignity and diversity through education and to foster our individual responsibility to work for justice and peace.

Idaho Latino Vote - Idaho Latino Vote is a project sponsored by the Idaho Hispanic Caucus for Research and Education (IHCIRE), an Idaho non-profit organization. The project's goal is to register eligible Latinos and to get registered Latinos out to vote.

Idaho Progressive Student Alliance - The IPSA exists to give students the information, training and opportunity they need to create a better society.
Idaho Rivers United - Idaho Rivers United's mission is to protect, restore and improve the rivers of Idaho and the communities that depend on them.
Idaho Smart Growth - Idaho Smart Growth is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating Idahoans about the consequences of current development patterns and the alternatives to those patterns and engaging them in activities that encourage thoughtfully planned development and exemplary development policies.
Idaho Wildlife Federation - Provides education, legislative advocacy, and grassroots support for wildlife and wildlife management based on sound scientific and sociological principles. IWF is committed to ensuring individual as well as institutional accountability for wildlife conservation.
Idaho Women's Network - The Idaho Women's Network unites the voices and interests of Idaho women, families and communities. Through community organizing, advocacy and education, IWN strives to strengthen democracy and promote human rights.
Interfaith Alliance of Idaho - The Interfaith Alliance of Idaho offers a mainstream, faith-based agenda committed to the pursuit of individual dignity and the importance of community. IFA promotes the positive and healing role of religion in public life through encouraging civic participation, facilitating community activism, and challenging religious political extremism.
Mujeres Unidas de Idaho - MUI brings Latinas in Idaho together to examine and take action on issues affecting their communities and actively develop new Latina leaders in Idaho.
Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute - The Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute (PCEI) is committed to increasing citizen involvement in decisions that affect our region's environment through community organizing and education.
State Independent Living Council - The SILC advocates for equal opportunity, equal access, self-determination, independence and choice for people with disabilities.
United Vision for Idaho - United Vision for Idaho works with diverse organizations to strengthen equality, justice and democracy in Idaho. One striking aspect of the 24 groups that comprise United Vision for Idaho is their diversity. Member organizations range from Church Women United to the Idaho State AFL-CIO, to the Idaho Conservation League, to the Idaho Hispanic Caucus.
Women of Color Alliance - The Women of Color Alliance honors cultural diversity through mutual support, leadership development and empowerment. It is our mission to work toward a fair social, political, and economic system to improve the quality of life for all Women of Color.
Your Family, Friends and Neighbors - YFFN is a grassroots organization dedicated to advancing equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people through community organizing, advocacy and leadership strategies that empower LGTB communities and their allies who work for progressive social change.
