AMP 2019 Sponsorships
Activists Mobilizing for Power (AMP) is Western States Center’s beloved and flagship biennial leadership development convening for organizers and activists from across the West and beyond. In the last ten years, over 4,000 participants representing more than 800 nonprofit organizations have attended this three-day event to sharpen their skills, expand their analysis, and build lasting relationships that are the heart of successful alliances.
AMP provides participants with in-depth workshops led by the best practitioners from their fields, including sessions on organizing, management, development, communications and more. Through this year’s theme of Democracy Under Siege, AMP will emphasize that an inclusive democracy – one that is people-centered, transparent and accountable – is fundamental to protecting and advancing progressive values. The 2019 AMP program will focus on sharing cutting-edge tools and case studies from our region to help foster effective strategies that activists can integrate into their work.
Western States Center works hard to keep the costs of AMP affordable and to assure access for organizations that will make use of this training opportunity. The average cost per participant for three days of tuition, lodging and meals is roughly $650. In addition, travel to and from the event from locations throughout the west and beyond adds hundreds in airfare and mileage costs.
Sponsorship provides vital support for bringing AMP within reach of grassroots leaders from around the region who would otherwise lack the resources to attend.
Together with support from sponsors, we will make a valuable investment in building the capacity and leadership of organizations seeking a more just, vibrant and inclusive democracy for all.
